Building on momentum of 2008, DeposZip starts new year strong

With a successful year of growth behind it, DeposZip’s momentum isn’t slowing in 2009. The nation’s first commercially offered consumer and business remote-deposit-capture service, launched in 2007, began gaining momentum in early 2008. DeposZip ended the past year with more than 87,000 items deposited. Collectively, deposits totaled $76 million, with an average deposit value of $1,151. Throughout the year, the number of active credit union members grew by 24 percent each month.

Credit Unions Follow Their Hearts to Boston Marathon: 10 Years and Counting

On April 20, 2009, the Credit Unions Kids at Heart program will celebrate its 10th anniversary of participation in the Boston Marathon on behalf of Children’s Hospital Boston. Since the program’s inception in 1996, Kids at Heart has raised $2.9 million, which has been used for various efforts such as a patientfamily lounge for the hospital and fetal research. In 2009, Kids at Heart has the exciting prospect of exceeding the $3 million mark.

EasCorp Free-for-All Adds Collective $500,000 to Credit Unions’ Bottom Line

As a capstone to its 30th anniversary and to thank member credit unions for their business, Eastern Corporate Federal Credit Union (EasCorp) is doing away with almost all of its service fees for the month of November. EasCorp will not charge product and service users for ACH and check processing, funds transfers and settlement services, security safekeeping, or statement mailing services. In total, the Free-for-All savings represents a value of a half-million dollars for EasCorp’s service users.

Eastern Corporate Federal Credit Union (EasCorp) announced it is piloting a new Consumer Deposit Capture program, which allows consumers and small businesses to electronically scan checks and send them to their credit unions for collection. Any member who is pre-qualified, and has access to online banking and a home desktop scanner can use the new service.
